July Easter Seals Field trip:
Our visitors from Easter Seal got to meet one of the geldings we had in for training named Chester. He was a huge hit with everyone and they really enjoyed getting to watch him play a game of "equine soccer" in the arena.
August Easter Seals Field Trip:
Another great visit from our Easter Seals group. Everyone was excited to get to see one of their favorite mares again, Scarlet and she didn't disappoint. She had a ball giving everyone lots of kisses and nuzzles and posing for pictures. We compile all the pictures onto discs for the clients so they have something they can take with them to remember their visits.
Community Outreach Program:
Our horses naturally excel in outreach work and love engaging with people of all ages. We believe community involvement is an essential part of a well-rounded program, and we strive to stay actively engaged. Our outreach activities include attending local feed store events, visiting retirement homes, and participating in hospice programs.
April 2013 Tractor Supply Demo Days Event:
We were invited to participate in a community event hosted by our local Tractor Supply. We brought Gideon, one of the gypsy geldings we had in training at the time and he was a total star! Gideon was the perfect ambassador for the gypsy breed, warmly greeting everyone he met with with sweet gypsy kisses.
2014 National Share Your Gypsy Day:
April 26th 2014 marked the First Annual "National Share Your Gypsy Day" and Starfire Gypsy Horses was thrilled to be able to be a part of this fantastic educational event. We represented the Gypsy breed at our local Tractor Supply in Yuba City, CA with none other than the phenomenal stallion, SD Murphy. Murphy is owned by our client, Amy Weiland of Cedar Creek Gypsy Horses and in currently in training with us for the upcoming show season.
The turnout couldn't have been better and SD Murphy showed his new fans what a Proper Gypsy Cob should be, in temperament, kindness, breed standard type and of course, his beauty. We had children and adults of all ages, fall in love with this wonderful breed. It was a day of joy, education and most of all, FUN...
We were invited INSIDE the store as well, and Murphy was a complete and total gentleman. We have been invited back for multiple events this year, and Murphy has truly shown how calm, gentle and ideal this breed is... We are honored and excited to have this AMAZING Stallion in our care, and with his Show Season coming up, we can't wait to see his achievements!!!
